The Team!(God's Melting Pot)

Twelve Days with these people have been an experince of a lifetime. I would do it all over again including the weather if I had a chance to. We all have been through alot together in just a short amount of time and some how God has allowed us to connect well as a team. I love each and every one of them , they have been apart of a major change in my life. Thank You!

Last Day Together Till Next Time!

Our last Sunday was very bittersweet at the Breakthrough Church. We participated in the Medical and Dental mission and the passing out of food bags to families in the church. The sadest part of our day was the farewell party because we all did not want to leave so soon. Even though we had 9 days here we wish we could of stayed longer. I know I made a connection with some of the youth so just thinking about leaving made me feel a little sad. I know deep down that day was not meant to say my good byes , but to say see you soon!

Luke 22:24-27 WHO REALLY IS THE GREATEST?

Through out this trip there has been many of people who have helped us get around and connect with other people. They also made sure we were comfortable and well fed. We laughed together, sung together, ate together, and most of all prayed together. They were truly like a second family to us all. As a team we felt that it was about time we cook for them and show them our appreciation. We worshipped together first then we served them our American style spaghetti.

                                                         They are the GREATEST!!!

Luke 22:24-27 :Now there was also a dispute among them,as to which of them should be considered the greatest. And He said to them, The kongs of the Gentiles exercise lordships over them, and those who exercise authority over them are called  'benefactors'.But not so among you; on the contrary, he who is the greatest among you, let him be as the younger, and he who governs as he who serves. For who is greater, he who sits at the table, or he who serves? Is it not he who sits at the table? Yet I am among you as the ONE who serves.

Area One Feeding!

This is one of the many areas that the Breakthrough Church serves to. Here we are joining the youth and some of the leaders of church to pass out food bags and individual food to the children of Area One.

Youth Retreat

Being with the youth on their retreat at the Water Camp was so fun. All of the youth never been to a water park before so they were very excited to be there. Some do not even have beds to sleep on at home so staying in the hotel with comfortable beds was a blessing to them. I was excited too because the Water Camp was beautiful and plus it gave me an opportunity to be a child again. Many of the children did not know how to swim either so they were eager to learn from those who knew how to swim from our team. We played games ,ate, and song gospel songs. We also had the chance to do devotions with the youth and just listening how they have a good understanding of the Bible is so great. I know many people in America do not have such a high commitment to the Bible as these youth do. I know majority of all my team members can agree that we all were still asleep at 6 a.m. while these youth were up doing their personal devotions. They are taught here at the church that if they do not do their devotions before breakfast they can not eat.

Today I shared my testimony and honestly I had no idea what to say ,but God pulled everything out of me. We joined the youth from the church to visit the toddlers and babies from the orphanage. The youth raised money to buy some necessities that the babies may need. This is so inspiring to see these youth who have little give what they can. They bought cakes for every house on the lot which is about four so every child could have a birthday today. Hearing all of the youth's thoughts about what they did today was speechless. They shared their stories and how now they appreciate the Breakthrough Church and their family because the children at the orphan literally have no one. They were moved by these babies and how God has blessed them with what they have. Till next time..enjoy .(Photos were not allowed to be taken of the children)
Here is a photo of My Jesus Storehouse that CA provided for the Breakthrough Church . It is ran by one of the brothers from the church.

So Far on God's Journey....

Just now ending my Monday night and all I can think of is WOW. It just amazing seeing such beautiful God fearing children. Today we participated in the children Olympics that they have every two years. How exciting it was for them and the team. The winners would win money for their area to buy good for the kids. It is always great seeing how the kids enjoyed themselves and played their heart out in this weather. Sunday evening the kids church put on a concert for us and when I say you guys better watch out i mean it. These childrn are talented and they know God. They know it is never too late to turn to God. I have so many thoughts I really do not know where to start and how to express everything I want to express to you all. I been having some technology problems these past two days so bare with me . Ill let the pictures and videos speak for themselves and ill also give captions.
We also attended the Men's service and after the wives cooked a fantastic meal for us all. Great rice, chicken, and vegetables.
Here are some of the pathways that lead to people's homes. Many businesses and homes are all in one.
Here is just some of the things some of the members of the team brought with them to give to the children and the people .

Los Angeles Food Bank

Saturday, May 12 my group and I volunteered at the LA food bank for our volunteer service project and I must say I was very surprised at how many people showed up. This was my first time ever being at a food bank and I had no idea what to expect. The introduction video for the volunteers was very touching and almost made me shed a couple of tears because I know the feeling of not having nothing to eat at home. Seeing families struggle is so painful to see and seeing the children make choices like drinking alot of water to get full so they would not be hungry is very sad. After that video I felt like I had a purpose there and God really got us there early that morning to fulfill it. What is so great about about the food bank is that it is a team effort and the job will not get done with only twenty people. Everyone on site had a job to fulfill and with the grace of God each one was completed by the end of our time. I recommend anyone and everyone to take the time out of your busy schedules to volunteer to be apart of this. I am not going to tell you exactly what we did, instead I challenge you to go and find out yourself!
